The Garden consisted of 40 plus olive trees, a swimming pool and not a lot else when we bought it in 2005. Each winter we pick our olives and take them up the road to our local mill, where they are pressed and returned to us as extra virgin olive oil.
In the last five years we have created a garden that is a peaceful retreat for body and soul. In the garden we have created seating areas, so many in fact that we now struggle to use them all! Each area has been named purely by coincidence and now we have The Rose Arbour, the G&T Terrace, The Kissing Terrace, The Sulking Terrace (a builder who was working on it misheard when we said 'sunken terrace' and now we have somewhere to go and sulk), The Snoozing Terrace, a Yoga Zone and more....
As well as the terraces, we have a herb garden, veg garden, fruit orchard, Max's garden, and Max's Quarry play area, lawns and a pergola walkway. Under construction at present is a Japanese garden and an area we have no idea what to do with.... yet. Oh yes, and also a Grotto and trampoline area.
